How can we connect deeper with our inner self? We (Marcelo & Bryan) asked each other that question - We reflected on our meditation practice and how much we loved a simple walk. After sharing our appreciation for all the tools that help us have more peace and joy in our lives, we landed on the unique power that writing holds. Writing gave us the space to listen to ourselves and to develop our thoughts and ideas with intention.

Writing helps rewire and restructure our own brain. In this Age of Information there is so much to capture and process; to integrate and act upon. We concluded that journaling is the best tool for processing and working through our thoughts and actions.

We identified 7 key benefits that we gain from consistent writing and note-taking:

  1. Writing brings clarity to our ideas and actions.

  2. Writing allows us to develop the way we think.

  3. Writing is good for our mental health:

    1. it reduces stress

    2. serves as an outlet for emotional expression

    3. helps us to solve our problems

  4. Journaling is a great way to nurture the process of our growth.

  5. Note-taking during our conversations helps us remember key insights.

  6. Using writing to develop our projects is key in keeping the momentum going.

  7. Through the use of different modes of journaling we find what style of writing works for us and when. (ex: free-flow, bullet journaling, dream writing, lists of key questions, etc.)

Journaling led us create Órbita Semanal; a system of journaling that uses the planetary associations of the 7 days of the week to date our pages and empower our process.

We use the planetary symbols in our journaling to better learn, organize, and take action through the week.

Starting with ÓS is simple.

The first step is to write the date -and its associated symbols- at the top of your page.

Marcelo for example uses the planetary symbol, the month, and the year. (plus zodiacal influences of the date for himself)

The Planets and their symbology help us to integrate the natural rhythms of life into our daily practice, and in turn, support our consistency in our reflection and action.

We created the ÓS Guides for ourselves as we wished to have a referential book to integrate the cycles. We now use the questions within the ÓS Guidebook to support our intentions and momentum.

Using ÓS in our journals, we organize our ideas and begin to come up with plans of action (& rest) based on the days and grander cycles. (moon & sun cycles)

We also invite you to create your own symbols to develop your own practice.

Integrating Planetary Energies

Sunday (Sun): Create your vision

Define your intention for the Órbit (7-days) ahead.

Express your inner light, align with your higher purpose, and honor your day.

Monday (Moon): Listen to your intuition. Reflect on your emotions; look into your inner needs.

Bringing balance to our thoughts, emotions, and actions.

Tuesday (Mars): Act on your priorities.

Practice discerned action.

Focusing on eliminating distractions and clarifying your goals.

Wednesday (Mercury): Organize your projects.

Work on your communication and clarity in your plans and actions.

Thursday (Jupiter): Expand your vision.

Consistently taking time to reflect align us with our grander vision.

Expand on what inspires you through reading and learning.

Friday (Venus)

Refine your work and actions as we close out our Órbit.

Cultivate balance in our relationships and the world around us.

Saturday (Saturn): Saturn Journal.  Ritualize grounding practices like rest while organizing for the Órbit ahead. Continue your journaling through weekly reflections: Follow the action-reflection cycle, as detailed in the ÓS Guide, and use the ÓS symbols to maintain your rhythm and structure.

Learn more through our intro to the Guide:

Through sharing our best practices we hope to co-create better patterns and cycles together.
